Papers relating to establishment of Grangemouth Colliery by lease from Henry Gordon Dickson WS Commissioner for Thomas Earl of Zetland to George Selby Mackay of coal, ironstone and fireclay in certain lands in the parishes of Bothkennar, Falkirk and Polmont, the sales of coal, establishment of the pit at Grangemouth and workmen's houses at Skinflats, construction of wharf and establishment of railway. Includes agreements; correspondence; plan of colliers' houses; sketch of Bothkennar coalfield; sketch of Carronhall coal workings and Mains Coalfield; plan of a jetty proposed to be constructed on the north side of the Carron near to Grangemouth; and specification for railroad from the Zetland pit at Grangemouth Colliery to the north bank of the River Carron opposite Grangemouth harbour.
