Sites and Monument Record: Auchenbowie Burn Limekiln (SMR 78)
Description
This kiln lay on the W bank of the burn, SE of Northfield Farm. To the W is a large quarry, Northfield Limecraig, which was being worked in 1794. On the first ed OS map it is given as a limekiln, and only on the 2nd ed is it noted as disused. A second limekiln occurs to the N of the burn at NS 8045 8580, and is just outside of the Falkirk District.
