Sites and Monument Record: Greenbank Limekiln (SMR 87)

Description
Shown on the 1860s OS map as disused, a pair of
kilns rested against the N embankment of the Union Canal. In this position their charging levels would have been close to the canal. The location is suitable for transport by the Forth and Clyde Canal as well as the Union Canal. These were evidently industrial draw kilns.
