Sites and Monument Record: Hills of Dunipace Motte (SMR 325)

Description
Raised beach deposits, subsequently re-used as a
motte, and the nearby graveyard may well reflect the bailey. The irregular shape, partially levelled bank and relative lack of graves against the boundary suggests an enclosed area. Its distance from the motte may be due to discrete ditches employed by both parts. Site guards a ford on the River Carron.
