Sites and Monument Record: Castlecary-Clydesdale Roman Road (SMR 455)

Description
Supposed line of Roman road.
The county boundary between the River Avon at Thieves Hill (NS 8189 7324) and Low Roughrigg (NS 8280 7164) is on an appropriate line for the road to Clydesdale and has a small causeway along its west side for part of this distance. There are large stones in the banks of the river at Thieves Hill where the high ground on either side meet. It has evidently been a crossing at some time.
