Sites and Monument Record: Mary of Castlecary's Tomb (SMR 531)
Description
Small walled family burial ground. The coping stones of the S wall bear a long inscription: "Erected by James Scott, owner of the lands of Greenhill, Glenyards, Bogside, Lochdrum and Lochgreen". On the lintel above the entrance also in the south wall are the words "The Burial Place of James Scott, Janet Scott, William Hannah, and Mary of Castlecary and Others." High on the wall to the right side is the date 1756. The west wall has collapsed.
