Founded by Campbell Ferguson, Arthur Hamilton Dunlop, and James and George Ferguson in July 1877 as Campbell Ferguson & Co. It does not appear to have lasted long and by 1887 ownership had passed to James Castello, Glasgow. In that year George Mitchell became the tenant, and later he bought the foundry. It became part of George Mitchell & Sons Ltd. In c1960 the site ceased to be used.
