Built as the custom house for the port of Bo'ness.
The ground floor was used to house shop units.
On 11 October 1911 the building was destroyed by fire. The shops lost were Dymock's (grocer and chandler), Hansen (draper) and the singer Sewing Machine Showroom, as well as 7 tenement houses. The damage was estimated at £6,000, but there was no loss of life. The Grangemouth Fire brigade attended the blaze.
