Sites and Monument Record: Barony Theatre (Borrowstoun School) (SMR 1355)

Description
Primary school built in 1877 to the design of J Patterson of Edinburgh in weak Scottish baronial style. Separate entrances for the boys (to the west) and girls (to the east), but no sculpted lettering.
Converted in 1966 to the barony Theatre. This impacted little upon the exterior, but the internal subdivisions were removed and 120 redundant cinema seats from Edinburgh were inserted on a new raked floor. The windows were blocked in.
