Dobbie, Forbes & Co was established in 1872 by Major Robert Dobbie, James Forbes and Dick, and based at Larbert Foundry, Larbert. It became part of Allied Ironfounders in 1934. In 1959 it amalgamated with Callendar Abbots Ltd and was re-named Callendar Abbots & Dobbie Forbes Ltd. The name of the company was changed to Larbert Foundry Ltd in 1961.
