medal; "Military Cross (MC)" (with bar)

Description
Military Cross - silver cross with straight arms and a a flair at the ends (Greek cross). It is decorated with the Imperial Crown at the end of each arm. The Royal Cypher of George V in the centre. The Bar (second award) also on this item. The ribbon is white/purple/white. In a wooden display box with Perspex top.
Awarded to James Fitz Morris on 26 September 1917 and the bar the following year.
At this time the Military Cross was awarded to officers (later expanded) in recognition of "an act or acts of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy on land to all members, of any rank in Our Armed Forces..."
