A square stone pillar, which was locally believed to have been the market cross of the High Town, stands just E of the N drive from Airth Castle. The pillar, which has no pedestal, is 7ft 2 in high and 9.75 in square in section, while its head is slightly larger at 11 in square. This is the remnant of a sundial of probably 17th century date. The shaft has been repaired with iron clamps and cement.
