Duncan Stewart Robertson
|
Honourable Dr Duncan Robertson was member of Jamaica Legislative and his estate in Jamaica was called "Friendship", which he purchased in 1819. He married Susan Stewart and died in 1824. Their children were Duncan Stewart Robertson who inherited Carronvale, married Harriet Ann Mary Ogilvie (niece of 6th Earl of Airlie) and died 1856. their children were Donald (who married but had no children) and Julia (who was unmarried).
Duncan and Susan Robertson had two other sons: Robert who died in infancy and James who inherited Roehill and who fought in the Sikh war and Crimean war (see Gibson "Lands and Lairds of Larbert parishes p.78). |

Jessie Lorn
|
Jessie Simpson (d.1866) married Capt John Lorn who died when she was 33. The couple had two children, John, later Dr John Lorn and Ann who married Dr John Moir. Mrs Jessie Lorn came from Dunbar from another shipping family, returned there with her children in 1830 and lived there for the rest of her life. The Marriage Contract with Captain Lorn provided for her to receive income on his death. She took an active interest (latterly assisted by her son) in the affairs of the Marriage Contract Trust until her death in 1867.

Dr James Girdwood (d. 1867) was elected Falkirk Parochial Surgeon in 1847 along with Dr Hamilton. His sisters Jane Borthwick, Christina and Catherine McEwan moved to Edinburgh following his death. He evidently died in debt.
