James (4) Black was married to Ann Robertson and by his Disposition and Settlement which he wrote in 1803 the lands of Hillend, miln of Slamannan and lands in North Bankhead were conveyed to his son James (5) Black in 1807.

Commander Thomas Willing Stirling, OBE was born 10 October 1866 in Manchester, and died 1930 in Bankhead Orchard, Kelowna. On the death of his elder brother, John Stirling, he succeeded to the entailed estate of Muiravonside. With the agreement of his eldest son, Robert, the entail on Muiravonside was broken in 1923.
