Scottish Central Railway (Denny Branch Extension) from the Denny Railway at East Boreland to Quarter Pit, a distance of 2.5km. It was constructed c1860 with a short-lived side branch to ironstone pits at Risk. The line was extended north and east over the following two decades as the Quarter Pit grew in size. By 1920 it had contracted and became known as the Ingliston Branch Railway with the junction at East Boreland called the Ingliston Junction. From the beginning an embankment was built to carry another branch over the River Carron a little west of Dales bridge, but this was never completed.

A "cattle station" is shown on the 1st ed OS maps on the east side of the Scottish Central Railway a little to the north of the Bellsdyke Road near Muirhall Farm. A series of cattle pens ran alongside the railway with an office behind and a track leading to Bellsdyke Road. This would have served the Falkirk Trysts at Stenhousemuir. By the 2nd ed OS only the pens are named, and even these have gone by the 3rd ed. In 2012 the brick platform was uncovered during landscaping works.
